Wal-Mart Supports Local Search and Rescue Squadron

Coralville, IA - A check for $3,000 was presented yesterday to Captain Michael Oerregaard, Squadron Commander of the Cedar Rapids Senior Squadron, by Assistant Manager Jonna Hoy of the Coralville Wal-Mart Super Center, to support Civil Air Patrol search and rescue missions and disaster relief in Iowa..
The grant will be used to purchase much needed photographic equipment, mapping software and computer equipment necessary for airborne photography missions. Those missions have included photography of flood and tornado damage to assist county energy operation centers and the National Weather Service.
Civil Air Patrol also provides aerospace education and cadet programs for young people. The Civil Air Patrol is the auxiliary to the U.S. Air Force
