Memberships Requirements
Teachers
This program is designed primarily for teachers from kindergarten through twelfth grade who want to promote aerospace education in their schools using CAP educational products and resources. For the annual membership dues, AEMs receive a membership certificate, lapel pin, periodic newsletters, special educational products, the opportunity to participate in CAP's School Aerospace Excellence Award Program, etc. If military airlift is available, AEMs receive priority seating on aircraft traveling to CAP's National Congress on Aviation and Space.
- Citizen of the United States or alien admitted for permanent residence.
- Never convicted or plead guilty to a felony (State or Federal) or currently charged with a felony.
- Honorably discharged from the armed forces, if served.
This type of membership does not authorize to wear CAP uniform, hold, or participate in the senior member program. May not serve in authorized senior member positions in a CAP unit at any level, special permission is required for flight in Civil patrol Aircraft and Aerospace Education Membership is not creditable towards retirement in CAP.
Although membership in the CAP is selective, discrimination on the basis of race, color, national origin or disability is prohibited by CAP policy as well as laws and directives governing federally-assisted organizations. Civil Air Patrol policy further prohibits discrimination on the basis of sex and religion.
