Member Program

Internal Cadet Program
After obtaining the Curry award, cadets are assigned an Aerospace counselor. The counselor can be a cadet officer, the squadron´s AEO, or one of the squadron´s Cadet Program staff.
Cadets learn trough self-study from the six booklet set: Aerospace Dimensions.

Cadets are required to pass AE knowledge tests before they advance and earn grade and ribbons.
Cadets also have the opportunity of orientation flights (O-Rides). The Cadet Orientation Flight program is designed to introduce our youth to general aviation through hands-on orientation flights in state-of-the art single engine aircraft and gliders. CAP's pilots are licensed by the FAA, follow a syllabus for each flight, and ensure the flight is conducted safely. Orientation flights are free to cadets.
Internal Senior Program
Senior may elect to participate in the AE program for senior members. Seniors study the college-level textbook Aerospace: The Journey of Flight.

After studyng the book they complete a 100-question test and must pass with either 70% (closed book) or "correctable to 100%" (open book). This test takes one hour (closed book) to four hours (open book). The Brig. Gen. Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager Aerospace Achievement Award is obtained by senior memebers who pass the test.
